Our mission is to make learning with technology joyful, creative, playful, effective, social and equitable. To fulfill this goal, we design a range of solutions from the evaluation and design of new technologies for learning, to partnership-building between organizations in education ecosystems. We apply multidisciplinary approaches to address complex challenges related to technology in education. All along the way, we work closely with our partners to navigate ambiguity gracefully and with empathy.
DISCOVERY.
We employ a number of human-centered research and design methods to truly understand the needs and constraints of our partners. Our user research includes interviews, observations and focus groups, and we synthesize this critical data into user personas, journeys maps, and other visual tools to identify new design opportunities. We also conduct market research to establish our partners’ positions in new markets and operational research to provide partners with a bird’s eye view of their work that informs better decision-making processes for their organizations.
strategy.
We work with our partners to co-design strategies that advance their mission, outcomes and overall impact. We specialize in ecosystem and partnership design because we enjoy connecting the dots between critical stakeholders in order to shift global education systems in the right direction. We accomplish this through partnership with an active global community and by convening government, INGOs, philanthropy, private sector and civil society. We work closely with members of this community to build investment portfolios that identify and support the most impactful and scalable learning solutions.
implementation.
We conduct our expansive design work through collaborations with a global network of talented partners. We prototype, test and diffuse everything from low-fi curriculum to software to physical products to assessments to enhance creative learning and technology experiences. We build the skills and capacity of our partners through close collaboration in the early stages of an intervention and data-driven iterative design that achieves sustainability. Examples of our work have taken the form of design charrettes to create better learning technologies, and teacher professional development programs to foster digital agency.
